The ministerial work must be managed purely for God and for the salvation of the people, and not for any private ends of our own. Self denial is of absolute necessity in any Christian, but of double necessity in a minister.
This work must be managed laboriously and diligently as being of such unspeakable consequence to others and to ourselves. And are these works to be done with a careless mind, or a lazy hand?
